About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Lantern app and website, operated by Stefaniga D. Cosmin-Lucian PFA, Dacilor 11, Caransebes, Caras-Severin, 325400, Romania. By creating an account you agree to them.

Not an emergency service

Lantern is not an emergency service and does not contact the police, ambulance or any other emergency responder. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. Lantern helps the people you choose know whether you have checked in.

No guarantee of delivery

Notifications depend on mobile networks, internet access, device settings and third-party providers. We work to deliver every alert, but we cannot guarantee that any push notification, SMS, email or call will arrive, or arrive on time.

Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Lantern. Keep your login details safe and give accurate information, including a working phone number with its country code.

Emergency contacts

Only add people who know you and agree to be your emergency contacts. Contacts must create a Lantern account and confirm in the app before they receive alerts, and they can stop at any time.

SMS program

Lantern sends SMS safety alerts to confirmed emergency contacts. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help where available, or email help@lantern.travel. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Acceptable use

Do not use Lantern to harass, track or monitor anyone without their knowledge, to send spam, or to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.

Liability

Lantern is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by a notification that was delayed or not delivered. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about significant changes. These terms are governed by Romanian law. Questions: help@lantern.travel.
